Siuan’s soup was surprisingly good.
She took another sip, raising an eyebrow. It was simple—broth and vegetables, bits of chicken—but when most food tasted stale at best, this seemed a wonder. She tried the biscuit. No weevils? Delightful!
Egwene shook her head and took a sip of her soup. She paused, then smiled. “Well, I see the soup is good. Perhaps things aren’t as bad as I thought.

1 package ramen
¼ cup green onions
1 egg
2 nori sheets
¼ cup mushrooms
1 tablespoon olive oil
Chop the green onions and place to the side.
Boil a pot of water filled enough to at least completely cover the egg. Prepare a bowl with ice water and boil egg for exactly 6 minutes and 30 seconds. As soon as the egg is done place it in the ice water.
Heat the olive oil in a pan to medium heat and add the mushrooms. Cook until softened.
Prepare the ramen according to package instructions. When done add the mushrooms, green onions, and nori. Carefully peel the soft-boiled egg and cut it in half before adding it to the ramen.
